Madhuri Dixit Nene Fondly Remembers Dharmendra: ‘So Gracious, So Handsome’

A week after the passing of Bollywood legend Dharmendra on November 24, 2025, actor Madhuri Dixit Nene shared her heartfelt memories of the veteran superstar during an interview on the podcast.

Dharmendra, often referred to as the ‘He-Man of Bollywood,’ died at the age of 89 at his Mumbai residence due to age-related illnesses, just two weeks shy of his 90th birthday.

❤️ Madhuri’s Tribute

Madhuri Dixit Nene, who worked with the late actor in films like Khatron Ke Khiladi (1988) and Paappi Devataa (1995), spoke about his enduring charm and humility:

  • Personality: “Amazing person. I mean, I have met him a couple of times and he’s always been so gracious, so down to earth and so handsome.”
  • Favorite Song: She revealed a sweet personal detail, recalling, “You know, his favourite song for me was Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas Tum Rehti Ho.” She added, “And that fits so nicely, for him also.”
  • Versatility: Madhuri also highlighted his wide range as an actor, noting his ability to recreate himself across genres—from action and romance to comedy, mentioning the classic film Chupke Chupke.

🎬 A Legacy Mourned

Dharmendra’s passing resulted in an outpouring of grief from the entire film fraternity. Stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan rushed to pay their last respects at his final rites at the Pawan Hans Crematorium. The Deol family held a prayer meet titled ‘Celebration of Life’ on November 27, which Madhuri and her husband Shriram Nene also attended.

The iconic actor’s final film, the war drama Ikkis, is scheduled for release on December 25.
