Luke told his followers to focus on making real progress instead of how much weight they lost or gained each day. He gave a number of useful recommendations on how to stop thinking about numbers and start thinking about your overall health:

Pay attention to how your body works: Keep track of your energy, strength, endurance, and flexibility. These are better indicators of your health than the number on the scale.

Notice how your clothes fit, how you stand, and how you look in the mirror. These things often convey a more realistic tale.

The power of muscle: Lean muscle speeds up your metabolism, makes your bones stronger, and helps you lose fat over time. He added, “Muscle may weigh more than fat, but it changes your body in a beautiful way.”

Know how hormones and water balance work: Cortisol, insulin, hydration, stress, and sleep all have an effect on how much weight you lose or gain each day.

Stay away from hasty cures. Detoxes and crash diets generally get rid of water and muscle instead of fat. Consistency is the key to getting real results.
