“Lord Balaji Will Not Forgive Him Even If He Climbs Up The 7 Hills On His Knees”: TDP Spokesperson Slams Jagan Mohan Reddy

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India]: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram slammed YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy following his scheduled visit to Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple and accused him of doing “unforgivable sin” saying “Lord Balaji will not forgive him even if he climbs up the seven hills on his knees.”

Speaking to media, Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy has committed an unforgivable sin so there will be no relief for him. Lord Balaji will not forgive him even if he climbs up the seven hills on his knees…We have released several documents which clearly state that they have done this deliberately, so there is going to be no forgiveness for him.”

This comes amid the row over the Tirupati Prasadam began after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus, the Prasdam offered at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, during the previous YSRCP government.

He emphasized that signing the declaration is a custom for those from other religions who wish to have darshan of Lord Balaji.

Ram said, “Second thing is you will not be allowed to go into the temple if you don’t sign the declaration. All these years you have gone into the temple without signing the declaration. We all know that you are a believer in Christianity which we don’t have any problem with.”

The controversy surrounding Reddy’s visit stems from his Christian faith and previous instances of not signing the declaration. The TDP and other opposition parties have criticized Reddy’s actions, with former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu calling it a “spiritual breach.”

“We respect all religions but it is a role, it is a custom in that whoever intends to have a darshan of Lord Balaji, a person belonging to another religion whether it be Christianity or Islam if they intend to have a darshan of Lord Balaji then they have to sign a declaration stating that they have faith in him. So all these years as chief minister Jagan Reddy never signed. So Jagan Mohan Reddy you will have to sign the declaration otherwise you will not be allowed to go inside the temple complex…,” he added further.

In response, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused Naidu of spreading misinformation about Tirumala’s sacred laddu prasadam being adulterated with animal fat, hurting devotees’ sentiments. The party has urged devotees to participate in temple poojas on September 28 to restore Tirumala’s sanctity.

YSRCP Chief and Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took to the social media platform X, urging people to stand against the false claims made by Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu had allegedly spread misinformation, claiming that Tirumala’s sacred laddu prasadam was adulterated with animal fat, which misled devotees and tarnished the revered image of Lord Venkateswara.

The YSRCP claimed that this act, driven by political motives, deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees. In light of this, the party is calling for participation in temple poojas on September 28th to purify Tirumala’s sacredness and restore the honour of Lord Venkateswara’s Prasadam.

Meanwhile, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday clarified that the rumour about the presence of a tobacco pouch in the sacred Laddu Prasadam is “untrue.”

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams stated that “it is inappropriate for some devotees to spread such claims on social media about the presence of a tobacco pouch in Srivari Laddu Prasadam.”

The Laddus in Tirumala are being prepared by Sri Vaishnava Brahmins with utmost devotion, dedication, and strict adherence to the rules, preparing lakhs of Laddus every day,” the Temple Authority said.

The temple authority stated that the laddus are also prepared under “CCTV surveillance.” “It is unfortunate to spread such misinformation about a well-organised system of Laddu preparation. Devotees are requested to take note of this,” the Temple Authority added.
