Look Out Circular Issued Against Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member In Ranveer Singh Extortion Case

In a major development in the extortion case involving Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, the Mumbai Crime Branch has issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Harichandra alias Harry Boxer, a suspected operative of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The case centers on a series of chilling threats and extortion demands that have placed high-profile Bollywood figures under an unprecedented security umbrella in February 2026.

The Case: Rs 20 Crore Demand

The investigation was triggered when Ranveer Singh’s manager and social media handler, Vijay Subramanian, received a series of threatening WhatsApp calls and voice notes:

  • The Threat: The caller, identifying himself as “Harry Boxer,” demanded ₹20 crore (updated from initial reports of ₹10 crore).
  • The “Word” Dispute: In one voice note, Boxer warned Singh for allegedly “backing out” of a previous commitment or statement, adding that “the next seven generations” would remember the consequences if he didn’t fall in line.
  • Verification: Mumbai Police sent the audio clips to Punjab and Haryana authorities, who confirmed the voice matched Harry Boxer, a Rajasthan native believed to be hiding in Canada.

A Coordinated Intimidation Campaign

Authorities believe these threats are part of a broader campaign targeting the film industry, linked to the Shubham Lonkar faction of the Bishnoi gang:

  • Rohit Shetty Firing: The threats to Ranveer come just weeks after five rounds were fired at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence on February 1. The shooter, Deepak Sharma, was arrested and revealed he was promised ₹3 lakh for the job.
  • Aayush Sharma Threat: Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, also received a threatening email via Proton Mail (an encrypted service) on February 11, claiming to be from the Bishnoi gang.
  • MCOCA Invoked: Due to the organized nature of these crimes, the Mumbai Crime Branch has invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

Current Security Status

  • Ranveer Singh: Security around the actor and his residence has been significantly heightened. He has been advised to remain cautious during his current travel for the promotions of Dhurandhar 2, which is still slated for a March 19 release despite the threats.
  • Harry Boxer: With the LOC issued, Boxer will be detained at any Indian port of entry. However, as he is suspected to be in Canada, Mumbai Police are coordinating with international agencies and examining links to overseas handler Arzoo Bishnoi.
