Look At The Salary Structure Of Vice President Of India With Perks

NEW DELHI – It’s a good moment to think about the financial and housing benefits that come with being the Vice President of India, since the country is waiting for the election of its next Vice President, who will take over from Jagdeep Dhankhar. The Vice President is the second-highest official in the country, however the job doesn’t come with a set pay. The Vice President’s pay, on the other hand, is based on his or her obligations as the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

Officials say that there is no set pay for the Vice President. A news agency spokesman said, “There is no set salary for the vice president. Instead, they get pay and benefits that are in line with their role as the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.”

Vice President Of India Salary

The Vice President gets ₹4 lakh a month as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. But if the Vice President had to step in as interim President of India because there was a vacancy, they would get the President’s salary and not be paid for being the Rajya Sabha Chairman. The President’s pay is now ₹5 lakh a month.

Perks & Allowances

In addition to the pay, the Vice President gets a lot of benefits and allowances. These are some of them:

Free housing from the government in a certain place.

Full medical care for the vice president and their family.

Travel privileges, such as complimentary rail and plane tickets.

Services for landlines and cell phones.

A personal security detail that is always there for you.

Official staff to help with daily tasks.

What About Pension?

A retired Vice President is still well cared for. They have the right to a pension of around ₹2 lakh every month. In addition, they get a Type-8 government home for life and staff assistance that includes a personal secretary, an extra secretary, a personal assistant, a doctor, a nursing officer, and four attendants. If a former Vice President dies, their spouse gets a lesser Type-7 residence for life.

The resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar brought attention to the subject of pensions. Dhankhar asked for a pension as a former member in Rajasthan after he decided to leave the job on July 21. He is entitled to a monthly pension of ₹42,000 because he was a Congress MLA from 1993 to 1998. When he became Governor of West Bengal in July 2019, his pension as a former legislator was stopped. This is now being fixed.

As people vote for either C.P. Radhakrishnan or B. Sudershan Reddy, the winner will not only take on a high-profile constitutional function, but also a job that, while not officially paid, comes with a lot of advantages and a solid future.
