Locket Chatterjee Accuses TMC Of Corruption And Bringing Voters From Bangladesh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Locket Chatterjee on Thursday criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, accusing them of corruption and electoral malpractice ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.

BJP’s Allegations Against TMC

Chatterjee alleged that TMC is “bringing voters from Bangladesh” and that Abhishek Banerjee is involved in corruption.

“Today’s speech by Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee showed that they lack confidence. It is clear that Abhishek Banerjee is involved in corruption. They have brought voters from Bangladesh. Mamata Banerjee knows that the West Bengal elections in 2026 are not going to be easy for her. BJP has won Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi. Now, Bengal’s time is coming. Before that, we have Bihar elections too,” Chatterjee told media.

Mamata Banerjee’s Counter Allegation

In response, CM Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP is manipulating the voters’ list with the support of the Election Commission (EC). She announced the formation of a committee to check irregularities in the voters’ list across all districts of West Bengal.

Banerjee claimed that the BJP used similar tactics to manipulate elections in Maharashtra and Delhi and is now attempting to do the same in West Bengal.

“Sitting in the Election Commissioner’s office, they have created a fake voter’s list online, and in every district of West Bengal, fake voters have been added. Using this trick, they have won elections in Delhi and Maharashtra. The opposition in Maharashtra could not find out these facts. Most of the fake voters are from Haryana and Gujarat. BJP is manipulating the voters’ list with the blessing of EC,” she said.

Appeal to Bengal’s Citizens

CM Banerjee urged the people of Bengal to verify their names on the voters’ list and ensure fair elections.
