Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], March 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday commended the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for its initiative aimed at providing the youth of Ladakh an opportunity to learn about the country’s cultural heritage, democratic values, and their role in realizing the vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
LG Sinha made these remarks during an interaction with a youth delegation from Ladakh, who participated in ABVP’s ‘Rashtriya Ekatmta Yatra’ under the Student Experience in Regional Understanding (SERU) initiative. The initiative not only focused on educating the youth about India’s educational and governance framework but also broadened their perspectives by exposing them to various regions of the country.
During the interaction, the participating youth shared their experiences and insights gained from the tour, reflecting on the cultural and educational diversity they had encountered. The Lieutenant Governor extended his felicitations and best wishes to the youth, acknowledging the importance of such initiatives in fostering cultural understanding and national unity.
The tour aimed to promote a sense of unity among the youth, enabling them to gain valuable experiences that could inspire their future academic and career pursuits.
Earlier on March 13, LG Sinha also addressed the Spiritual and Value Education Summit in New Delhi, where he emphasized the need for transforming the education system into a holistic framework that nurtures intellectual growth and moral integrity. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of integrating ethics and values into education to create an enlightened society and a powerful nation.
“Value-based education will enable students to explore their true strengths. It will help in character building and inspire them for righteous living. This holistic education system can take the nation on a growth trajectory and bring about the changes necessary for a developed nation,” Sinha stated.
