New Delhi [India]: New Delhi, India — Union Minister JP Nadda is set to begin a two-day visit to Odisha on April 11, during which he will unveil several public welfare initiatives and participate in various official programs.
On Friday, Nadda is scheduled to launch the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) at Balijatra Ground in Cuttack around 2:30 PM. Later, at approximately 4:40 PM, he will inaugurate a new facility at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Postgraduate Institute of Paediatrics, also in Cuttack.
Previously, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, alongside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, distributed Ayushman Cards to eligible beneficiaries in the national capital.
During the event, Nadda criticized the former Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government, claiming that millions of residents had been denied access to the Ayushman Bharat scheme during its tenure.
“You should be compelled to think about how your rights are violated when a poor government is in power; and that when a good government comes to power, you get your rights within 50 days. Three states had refused to implement Ayushman. First was Odisha, where the prior government lost power, and then the lotus bloomed. The same happened in Delhi. Now, only West Bengal is left, where also the lotus will bloom, and the current government will lose power,” Nadda said.
He further added, “You (Arvind Kejriwal) used to say that (the BJP) will have to be reborn to (form a government in Delhi). But we accomplished it in this life only. Then Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj went to the Supreme Court and said that they would not let Ayushman be implemented in Delhi. All of you should take a vow that you will not let such a government be formed in Delhi ever again.”
Before departing for Odisha, Nadda also paid tribute to Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) founders Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerji and Deendayal Upadhyaya at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. He was attending a workshop focused on the newly amended Waqf Act.
The workshop, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aimed to engage with the Muslim community and clarify the new provisions of the Waqf legislation, addressing any concerns or misconceptions.
