London [UK], July 11: Former tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi and Bollywood actor Lara Dutta enjoyed a sporty outing at Wimbledon on Friday as they watched Carlos Alcaraz take on Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals of the 2025 championship.
Lara took to Instagram to share glimpses from their tennis date, posting pictures from the stands.
“A date with the husband ❤️ The best of tennis 2025…… #wimbledon @mbhupathi,” she captioned the post.
The couple witnessed Alcaraz’s thrilling four-set victory over American Fritz. The two-time defending champion edged out the American 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6) in a high-octane battle under the blazing sun at Centre Court.
Alcaraz, who landed 88% of his first serves, faltered briefly at the end of the second set but bounced back sharply in the third. In a tense fourth-set tie-breaker, he saved two set points at 4/6 and claimed four straight points to seal the win in 2 hours and 48 minutes.
“It was a really difficult match, as always, when I play against Taylor. Even tougher with the conditions, it was really hot today,” Alcaraz told ATP.
The Spaniard is now just one win away from becoming the fifth player ever to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles. He also extended his career-best 24-match winning streak and is on track to emulate Bjorn Borg, who won the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back between 1978–1980.
