Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand): A landslide struck the Yamunotri walking route at Nau Kanchi in Uttarkashi district on Monday, leaving one person injured and two others feared trapped under debris, officials confirmed.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said rescue operations are underway to locate those believed to be trapped.

One person has sustained injuries in the landslide incident on the Yamunotri walking route. Two people are feared to be trapped under the debris. Rescue work is currently ongoing at the site,” he stated.

Uttarkashi District Magistrate Prashant Arya informed that the injured person, identified as a resident of Mumbai, has been shifted to Jankichatti Primary Health Center for medical treatment.

Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), local police, and administrative officials have been deployed for relief and rescue operations in the affected area.
