The internal turmoil within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has escalated dramatically, with party leader Rohini Acharya sharing explosive and deeply personal allegations of abuse and humiliation directed at her by individuals within the party structure.
In a recent, emotionally charged statement, the daughter of RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav alleged that she was subjected to a campaign of harassment, including abusive language and a disturbing attempt to assault her with a slipper.
Acharya firmly asserted that this behavior was a direct consequence of her integrity and refusal to bend to pressure.
Rohini Acharya: “I refused to compromise on my self-respect or abandon the truth, claiming this was the reason she faced such behaviour.”
Forced to Leave Home, Feeling ‘Orphaned’
The gravity of the situation was underscored by Acharya’s claim that the incident led to her being forced out of her maternal home. She painted a tragic picture of her departure, describing herself as being “torn away” from her crying parents and sisters, and feeling utterly “orphaned” by the experience.
The incident is the latest development in a public spat that has gripped the RJD following the party’s significant setback in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. Acharya recently targeted her brother and top RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav, and his aides, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat, blaming them for the party’s poll debacle and stating she was “thrown out” of the party’s inner circle.
While Acharya has not explicitly named the person responsible for the alleged assault attempt, her recent posts have focused heavily on the influence of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat within the party.
The RJD leadership has not yet provided an official response to the severe accusations of physical and verbal abuse made by one of its own family members.
