Washington DC [US], May 21: Global superstar Lady Gaga has added a Sports Emmy Award to her accolades, winning in the Outstanding Music Direction category for her emotional Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand” at the 59th National Football League (NFL) event in 2024, as reported by Deadline.

At the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, Gaga stood out among other nominees including The Evolution of the Black Quarterback, The Lionheart, Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time, and The Turnaround.
This win brings Lady Gaga closer to the prestigious EGOT status—having now secured an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar. She only needs a Tony Award to complete the elite achievement.
Gaga’s NFL 2024 Super Bowl performance took place on Bourbon Street in New Orleans and served as a tribute to the victims of the New Year’s attack that claimed 14 lives. The performance featured Gaga at the piano, accompanied by a full band and choir, with first responders and law enforcement in attendance as honored guests.
The tribute also featured appearances by former NFL legends Tom Brady and Michael Strahan, according to Variety. “Hold My Hand”, originally featured in the emotional ending of the 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, had already earned Grammy and Golden Globe nominations.
In addition to her music accomplishments, Gaga will appear in a cameo role in Wednesday Season 2, returning on August 6 (Part 1), with Part 2 premiering on September 3, as per Variety. While details of her role remain undisclosed, her presence adds star power to the popular Netflix series.
