Laborer Arrested For ₹10 Crore Extortion Threat To Former MLA Zeeshan Siddique, Claims D-Company Link

MUMBAI— A 33-year-old daily worker who was working in Trinidad and Tobago was arrested on Thursday for reportedly sending a series of threatening emails to former MLA and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique. This strange case has gotten a lot of attention. The emails terrifyingly asked Siddique’s family for ₹10 crore and clearly said they were from a member of Dawood Ibrahim’s infamous D-Company.

The arrest of Mohammad Dilshad Mohammad Naushad, who is from Bihar, is a big step forward in the inquiry that started in April when Zeeshan Siddique first got the scary emails.

A Threat Based on Family Tragedy and Gang Rivalry

Police said that the threatening emails made a very precise and scary allusion to the killing of Zeeshan Siddique’s father, Baba Siddique, who was shot and killed in October 2024. The sender, who said they were from the D-Company, took responsibility for the murder, which went against earlier reports that blamed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

“It was terrible that someone made up a phony news article that Lawrence Bishnoi was behind the Baba Siddique incident. Someone else did it, but that’s in the past. One of the emails said, “Now I want ₹10 crore from your family for protection, and you have two days.”

The texts also begged people not to call the police: “Please don’t call the police.” Be careful since this could happen to you. Another email said, “Please let me know if you need any more information.” Take it seriously. I’ll let you know where and when. Please check your email. D-Company.

Arrest at the airport after an international manhunt

The Mumbai police quickly began an investigation and found that the threatening emails came from Mohammad Dilshad Mohammad Naushad, who was working as a daily laborer in Trinidad and Tobago, a dual-island country in the Caribbean. In May of this year, immigration officials were warned about Naushad by a lookout circular.

When he got to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Thursday, his luck ran out. The immigration agency told the Mumbai police, who promptly caught him. Naushad is now in police custody until August 7 as the police look into his motives and any possible real connections to the notorious D-Company.

The D-Company, which Dawood Ibrahim leads, has a long history of being involved in organized crime, murder, and extortion. They have even been linked to high-profile cases. The police are now looking into whether Naushad really has ties to the gang or if he was just using their scary reputation to get what he wanted.
