Kylie Jenner’s Miu Miu Campaign Faces Backlash: Fans Say It Misses the Mark

The beauty mogul debuts in Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2025 shoot — but critics say the styling doesn’t suit her

[July 20] — Kylie Jenner’s debut campaign for luxury fashion label Miu Miu is turning heads — though not entirely for the right reasons. While the Fall/Winter 2025 campaign features an eclectic, star-studded cast, Jenner’s look in particular has sparked criticism for being off-brand and unflattering, according to reactions across social media.

The Kardashians star and billionaire beauty mogul appears in a series of intentionally offbeat portraits styled with oversized knits, dress shoes, slouchy socks, and a fur stole. The styling leans into Miu Miu’s signature retro, moody, and awkward aesthetic — an artistic vision closely associated with founder Miuccia Prada.

But many fans feel that while the campaign stays true to Miu Miu’s quirky direction, it doesn’t align with Kylie’s image.

On X (formerly Twitter), reactions ranged from confused to brutally honest. “Everyone says she looks like her old self and I STILL don’t see it. This photoshoot is meh,” wrote one user. Another commented, “Love it but today I learned that Kylie can’t wear dress shoes.”

“I’m so sorry but I really don’t like this photoshoot,” another post read. “Those shoes look weird and she is doing the dead eyes poses again :(”

Others were harsher: “This is so ugly, I don’t get why people are liking it,” and, “She looks terrible I’m sorry.” A final jab came from a user comparing past campaigns: “I will never understand Miu Miu’s creative direction… I mean this was Kendall’s in 2023. I feel like the photographer hates the Jenners omg.”

About the Campaign
Titled Femininities, the campaign aims to redefine and expand the concept of femininity in 2025. Alongside Kylie Jenner, the cast includes singer and actor Lou Doillon, Japanese model Rila Fukushima, rapper Cortisa Star, musician Towa Bird, artist Yura Romaniuk, and actor Myha’la.

Each cast member brings a distinct identity to the shoot, reflecting Miuccia Prada’s ongoing exploration of individuality and anti-perfection in fashion. Despite the backlash, the campaign is firmly rooted in Miu Miu’s ethos of challenging conventional beauty standards.
