Kyle MacLachlan Open To Returning As Orson Hodge in ‘Desperate Housewives’ Reboot: “That’d Be Fun”

Washington DC [US], July 7: Actor Kyle MacLachlan has shared that he’s open to reprising his memorable role as Orson Hodge in a potential Desperate Housewives revival, according to People.

Speaking exclusively to the outlet, the 66-year-old star said he’d consider stepping back onto Wisteria Lane if the reimagined version of the hit ABC series — which ran from 2004 to 2012 — moves forward. “That’d be fun. I mean, Wisteria Lane still exists on the Universal back lot. It’s part of the tour!” MacLachlan remarked.

He emphasized that he would approach the opportunity thoughtfully: “If Desperate Housewives were to come back, and if they would even want me to return — I’d have to look at the role and get a sense of what they’re thinking about for the character,” he explained.

MacLachlan added he would treat the opportunity as if it were a fresh project, saying, “I would approach it like something completely new and weigh how I feel about the role, the character, and the process.”

The Twin Peaks and Sex and the City star reflected on his experience returning as Special Agent Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017. “The thing about returning to Twin Peaks was that [creator] David [Lynch] decided not to just pick up from where we left off, but to create a completely different journey for the character. And I got to do a couple different characters in the reboot,” he noted.

Originally airing for eight seasons and 180 episodes, Desperate Housewives starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria, and followed the dramatic — and often darkly comedic — lives of the women of Wisteria Lane.
