Krysten Ritter has been cast in the upcoming Dexter: Resurrectio series, where she will appear as a guest star named “Mia.” Details about her character remain under wraps. This marks Ritter’s return to television, following her roles in Love & Death, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Sonic 3, Orphan Black: Echoes, and Breaking Bad.
The highly anticipated series, now in production, will see Michael C. Hall reprising his iconic role as Dexter Morgan. The original Dexter series aired on Showtime from 2006 to 2013. Dexter: Resurrection will debut this summer.
Following the success of Dexter: New Blood, which revived the franchise, the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin premiered last year and concluded last month. Original Sin became Showtime’s most-streamed original series in a decade, amassing 2.68 million global viewers for its finale.
In addition to Ritter, the cast includes Uma Thurman as Charley, returning stars David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan. New cast members include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suarez as Elsa Rivera, and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by the original showrunner, Clyde Phillips, who also returns as the show’s lead producer. The series is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
