Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya as a replacement for the injured Umran Malik ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The IPL media release confirmed that Umran Malik will miss the tournament due to an injury.
Sakariya, who has represented India in one ODI and two T20Is, has previously played 19 IPL matches, picking up 20 wickets. The Knight Riders have acquired him for ₹75 lakh.
KKR will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22 at Eden Gardens. With a well-balanced squad, KKR aims to make a strong title defense and add another trophy to their legacy.
