Prashant Kishor Slams Tejashwi Yadav: “Without Lalu, He Has No Identity”

Patna, Bihar: As Bihar gears up for the upcoming Assembly polls, Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor has launched a sharp attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, questioning his political credibility and asserting that his rise is solely due to his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s legacy.

In an exclusive interview with media, Kishor said,

“Tejashwi Yadav is Lalu Yadav’s son. Whatever he is today, it’s because of Lalu. Remove that name, and what identity does he have?”

Kishor further argued that Tejashwi lacks merit-based achievements, claiming there are many young leaders in the Yadav community with greater potential.

“He’s not a youth leader because of performance. It’s inherited power, not earned,” Kishor added.

He also targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav’s political legacy, stating:

“Lalu Yadav won on his own only in 1995. His popularity declined as he narrowed his appeal — from leader of the poor, to the backward, to only Yadavs, and now to RJD Yadavs. His MP count reflects that — falling from 20-25 to barely 2-4.”

Kishor didn’t spare Congress leader Rahul Gandhi either, accusing him of symbolic gestures and lacking grassroots engagement in Bihar.

“Rahul ji comes and goes, but doesn’t walk among the people. If he’s ever spent even one night in a Bihari village, tell me,” said Kishor.
“You sit in Delhi mocking Biharis and then come here to give lectures,” he added.

His criticism comes as political activity heats up in Bihar ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections, expected in October or November. While the NDA alliance (BJP, JD(U), LJP) holds a majority with 131 seats, the INDIA Bloc (RJD, Congress, Left) trails with 111 seats in the 243-member House.

Kishor, through Jan Suraaj, is positioning himself as a third front, challenging both traditional alliances and aiming to disrupt Bihar’s entrenched political narratives.
