Filmmaker Kiran Rao has shared an update on her health after recently undergoing surgery for her appendix. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kiran posted a series of photos and a short video from Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, offering fans a glimpse into her recovery phase.
In the first video, Kiran is seen inside her hospital room, followed by a cheerful selfie where she pouted for the camera. She also shared a close-up of her hospital name tag, which read “Kiran Aamir Rao Khan.” The final photo showed her smiling comfortably as she sat on a couch inside the hospital, enjoying her meal.
Along with the pictures, Kiran penned a light-hearted yet reflective caption. She wrote that she was all set to celebrate her way into 2026 when her appendix reminded her to slow down, breathe deeply and be grateful. Expressing amazement at modern medical procedures, she humorously added that she still couldn’t understand how a 12 mm diameter appendix was removed through a 10.5 mm catheter, joking that she was thankful she wasn’t a doctor.
Kiran also expressed deep gratitude towards modern medicine and the medical staff who took care of her during the procedure. Her post was met with warm wishes and messages of support from fans and members of the film industry.
