Bengaluru, April 16 – Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep has officially kicked off shooting for his upcoming sci-fi action film BRB: First Blood (Billa Ranga Baasha). Directed by Anup Bhandari and produced by Prime Show Entertainment, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2209 AD.
Sudeep announced the commencement of the project on Wednesday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, unveiling a dramatic poster and writing, “2209 AD – #BRBFirstBlood: The journey begins today. For us, this mammoth dream and vision of our team going on floor is an unparalleled excitement.”
The poster captures Sudeep standing amidst a snowy landscape, sporting snow goggles that reflect a fiery, chaotic scene—hinting at the film’s grand dystopian setting.
BRB: First Blood marks Sudeep’s much-anticipated reunion with director Anup Bhandari, following their successful collaboration on Vikrant Rona. Initially announced on Sudeep’s birthday last year, the film is reportedly structured as a two-part series, aiming to deliver a visually stunning and action-packed narrative.
Producers K. Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy, known for their blockbuster superhero film Hanu-Man, are backing the project, further raising expectations for the futuristic saga.
Sudeep was last seen in Max, an action thriller that hit theatres on December 25. Directed by Vijay Karthikeyaa, the film featured him as Inspector Arjun Mahakshay and was praised for its gripping action sequences and Sudeep’s dynamic performance, marking his return to the big screen after nearly three years.
