New Delhi, India | July 30, 2025: Actor Khushi Kapoor turned heads as a showstopper for ace fashion designer Rimzim Dadu on Day 7 of Hyundai India Couture Week (ICW) 2025. Sporting a striking metallic grey ensemble, Khushi shared insights into her fashion philosophy and revealed a charming sibling secret: a “communal wardrobe” with her elder sister, Janhvi Kapoor.
“I feel like we have one communal wardrobe, so everything that’s hers is automatically mine, so I don’t need to steal anything from her closet,” Khushi Kapoor lightheartedly told a sentiment many can relate to, proving that even celebrities share clothes.
Khushi’s showstopper outfit, a two-piece design by Rimzim Dadu, was a marvel of modern couture. It featured a halter-neck, bralette-style blouse with a sculptural, metallic texture. The unique neckline was further accentuated by a choker-style necklace, perfectly complementing the silver tones of the ensemble. The look was completed with a matching metallic grey skirt, meticulously tailored to fit her silhouette.
Speaking about the outfit, Khushi expressed her deep appreciation for its intricate details and inspiration. “I like everything about this outfit. I like that it takes inspiration from the Banjara tribes of Gujarat, so I feel like there’s a sense of home in it, and it kind of incorporates a sense of today’s style with its edginess and its structure. It’s actually made of steel, which is crazy, and each of these motifs are like piles linked together. So I like that it has a story to it and kind of makes me feel like I’m wearing something authentic and interesting,” she explained.
Beyond aesthetics, Khushi emphasized the paramount role of comfort in her fashion choices. “I think the most important thing is just feeling good and comfortable and confident in yourself. I think because I’m feeling really comfortable in what I’m wearing, and I’m really happy about my outfit and everything. I’m feeling really calm, so I think that’s the most important thing,” she added.
Rimzim Dadu’s collection for ICW 2025, from which Khushi’s outfit was drawn, is deeply inspired by Gujarat’s nomadic Banjara tribes. The collection innovatively reimagines traditional crafts such as Patola weaving and intricate mirror work, translating them into sculptural silhouettes and Dadu’s signature materials like steel, metallic wires, and custom-developed textiles. This blend of heritage and avant-garde design reflects a quiet strength and nomadic spirit, expressed in deep, burnished tones.
The India Couture Week 2025, presented by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in association with Reliance Brands, has been a star-studded affair. The event commenced on July 23rd with designer Rahul Mishra’s showcase, featuring actor Tamannaah Bhatia, and is set to conclude on July 30th with designer JJ Valaya’s collection.
Other prominent Bollywood figures also graced the runway during the week. Actor Sara Ali Khan garnered attention as she walked for designer Aisha Rao on Tuesday, dazzling in a soft rose gold lehenga adorned with intricate floral embroidery and a blend of pastel and metallic hues. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi’s sister, captivated audiences on Monday as the showstopper for designer Jayanti Reddy, presenting an exquisite embellished fish-cut lehenga with unique saree-like pleats below the knees, paired with a plunging sweetheart neckline blouse in blush pink.
On the work front, Khushi Kapoor was recently seen in ‘Nadaaniyan,’ a romantic drama that premiered on Netflix on March 7th. The film, directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment, features Ibrahim Ali Khan opposite her and promises a heartfelt journey of emotions, romance, drama, and humor. The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast, including Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj in key roles.
