Khalistani Separatist Inderjeet Singh Gosal Released on Bail, Issues “Delhi Banega Khalistan” Threat

Inderjeet Singh Gosal, a prominent Khalistani separatist and the Canadian coordinator for the secessionist group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ)‘s so-called “Khalistan Referendum,” has been released on bail in Canada, just a week after his arrest on multiple weapons-related charges.

Gosal, considered a close confidant of SFJ general counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, was released on Thursday from the Ontario Central East Correctional Centre (also cited as Lindsay Correctional Centre).

Immediately after his release, Gosal released a provocative video, captured outside the prison gates, in which he warned India’s top security establishment.

In the video, Gosal explicitly stated his renewed intent to organize the separatist referendum, scheduled for November 23, 2025, and delivered a direct threat: “India, I’m out; to support Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, to organise the Khalistan referendum on November 23, 2025. Delhi banega Khalistan [Delhi will become Khalistan],” he declared.

Direct Challenge to NSA Ajit Doval

In the same clip, SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun—who heads the outfit banned in India—aimed remarks squarely at the Modi government and India’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval. Pannun aggressively dared the NSA to attempt any action against him or Gosal abroad.

“Ajit Doval, why don’t you come to Canada, America or any European country and try to arrest or do any extradition. Doval, I am waiting for you,” Pannun announced.

The immediate bail for Gosal has raised questions in India, as his arrest was seen as a positive development, coming shortly after high-level security talks between NSA Doval and his Canadian counterpart, Nathalie Drouin, in New Delhi.

Arrest Details

Gosal, 36, a resident of Caledon, Ontario, was arrested on September 19 along with two other men—Jagdeep Singh, 41, of Pickville, New York, and Arman Singh, 23, of Toronto.

The Ontario Provincial Police’s Highway Safety Division stated that the three men faced a total of 36 weapons-related charges following a traffic stop in the town of Oshawa. The charges reportedly included careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Gosal took over the role of the Canadian coordinator for the Khalistan Referendum after the killing of fellow separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in 2023. Pannun himself was recently charged in India with challenging India’s sovereignty for allegedly offering a ₹11 crore reward to anyone who would stop the flag hoisting at the Red Fort on Independence Day.
