PM Modi Targets AAP In Delhi Election Rally, Kejriwal And Rahul Gandhi Hit Back

Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified the BJP’s election campaign in Delhi, launching a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, AAP and Congress leaders also addressed rallies, escalating the political battle ahead of the February 5 elections.

PM Modi’s “AAPda” Jibe at Kejriwal

Speaking at a rally in Ghonda, PM Modi criticized the AAP government over the alleged toxic water in the Yamuna. He repeatedly referred to AAP as “AAPda” (disaster).

“People of ‘aapda’ say that people of Haryana mix poison in water sent to Delhi. This is not just an insult to Haryana but to all Indians. Ours is a country where providing drinking water is considered a good deed… In aapda walon ki llutiya Yamuna mein hi doobegi,” he said.

Without naming Kejriwal, PM Modi accused him of misleading the people and insulting Haryana by claiming that the state was contaminating Delhi’s water supply.

Kejriwal’s Response: BJP Looting Delhi’s Tax Money

Kejriwal replied to the Election Commission’s notice regarding his “poison in water” remark, stating that he was fulfilling his public duty to highlight the crisis.

Addressing a rally in Timarpur, Kejriwal said:

  • AAP provides free power, water, and education but Delhi’s tax share is allegedly looted by the BJP government at the Centre.
  • He accused the BJP of favoring its capitalist friends over the welfare of Delhi’s people.

Rahul Gandhi Targets Both BJP and AAP

At a rally in Bawana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked both AAP and BJP, calling them promise-breakers.

“Kejriwal and Modi both make false promises… Five years ago, Kejriwal promised to drink Yamuna water after cleaning it. I challenge him to drink it now,” he said.

He further criticized Kejriwal for living in a “sheesh mahal” (glass palace) while Delhi residents suffer from polluted water.

BJP and AAP Leaders Clash Over Yamuna Issue

  • BJP leader Anurag Thakur slammed Kejriwal for failing to clean the Yamuna despite promises made 10 years ago. He urged Delhiites to vote for BJP for a cleaner Yamuna and better governance.
  • AAP minister Saurabh Bhardwaj dismissed BJP’s claims, asserting that AAP will secure a landslide victory.

Haryana CM Saini vs Kejriwal

The Yamuna water issue escalated further when Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini drank Yamuna water to counter Kejriwal’s claims. However, Kejriwal alleged that Saini later spat it out, calling it a publicity stunt.

Delhi Assembly Elections on February 5

With elections just days away, BJP, AAP, and Congress continue their high-voltage campaigns, making Yamuna pollution, governance, and development key election issues.
