Delhi Elections 2025: Kejriwal Accuses BJP Of Poaching AAP Candidates Amid Exit Poll Projections

New Delhi [India]: A day after exit polls suggested a BJP victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal made serious allegations against the BJP, accusing them of attempting to poach AAP candidates ahead of the final results.

Taking to social media platform X, Kejriwal alleged that BJP operatives had contacted 16 AAP candidates, offering them ₹15 crore each and ministerial positions in exchange for switching allegiance.

Kejriwal’s Allegations Against BJP

Kejriwal, in a scathing post, indirectly referred to BJP as the “Gali Galoch Party”, implying that the party was resorting to underhanded tactics to destabilize AAP.

“Some agencies are showing that the ‘Gali Galoch Party’ is getting more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls offering them ₹15 crore and ministerial posts if they leave AAP and join BJP,” Kejriwal alleged.

He further questioned the legitimacy of exit polls, calling them a deliberate attempt to demoralize AAP leaders:

“If BJP is getting more than 55 seats, why are they calling our candidates? These fake surveys have been conducted to break our candidates. But let me tell these people, not even one of our men will break down!”

BJP Dismisses Allegations

The BJP strongly rejected Kejriwal’s claims, calling them a sign of desperation. BJP MP Jagdambika Pal responded, dismissing the accusations as “baseless and absurd.”

“The way Arvind Kejriwal is making statements, claiming that his candidates are being called, is nothing but his hopelessness. Who will call his candidates when the results are yet to be announced? He is simply making excuses,” said Pal.

Exit Poll Projections: BJP Ahead, But Contest Remains Tight

Multiple exit polls have given varying projections for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly. While some predict a clear BJP victory, others indicate a tight contest with AAP.

  • P-MARQ Exit Poll:
    • BJP: 39-49 seats
    • AAP: 21-31 seats
    • Congress: 0-1 seat
  • Matrize Exit Poll(Predicts a close contest):
    • BJP: 35-40 seats
    • AAP: 32-37 seats
    • Congress: 1 seat
  • WeePreside Exit Poll(Predicts AAP advantage):

    • BJP: 18-23 seats
