Mumbai, India – In a historic moment for the popular quiz show, Aditya Kumar, a Deputy Commandant in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has become the first contestant to win ₹1 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 17. A promo released by the show’s makers captured the emotional moment when host Amitabh Bachchan declared him the winner, leading to a celebratory hug between the two.
Aditya, who hails from Uttarakhand and is currently posted at a thermal power plant in Gujarat, shared his inspiring journey on the show. He revealed that he is an army personnel and achieved the 6th rank nationally in the National Security Exams. He attributed his success to the power of education and hard work. “Education is extremely important, and for that reason, I have been able to reach this position so far, and sit here today,” he stated on the show. “It has been a tough journey so far, and I remember the way I stayed in a small room, let go of my friends and locked myself up for one year to devote to preparation. Because of that, I have reached here.”
The promo shows an elated and emotional Aditya, who hugged Bachchan and said he still couldn’t believe his achievement. The audience, including his parents who were present in the studio, cheered loudly for him.
The excitement is not over for Aditya, as the promo concludes with him attempting the final and most challenging question of the show for the jackpot prize of ₹7 crore. His attempt at the final question will be a highlight of the upcoming episodes.
Kaun Banega Crorepati season 17 premiered on August 11 and airs on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLiv from Monday to Friday at 9 p.m.
