Hyderabad (Telangana), March 17: BRS MLC K Kavitha has sharply criticized Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy, calling him a “habitual offender” who ignores constructive criticism. Kavitha’s remarks come in response to Reddy’s recent attack on former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), where he referred to KCR as a “liquor addict.”
Kavitha staunchly defended KCR, emphasizing his pivotal role in the creation of Telangana and his efforts for the state’s development. She pointed out that despite repeated requests from the public for Reddy to moderate his language, he continues to make inflammatory remarks. “The people of Telangana have made up their minds to teach him a lesson for his behavior,” she added.
The ongoing feud is part of a long-standing tension between Revanth Reddy and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Reddy has been vocal in his criticism of KCR’s leadership, accusing him of driving the state into financial ruin during his decade-long tenure as Chief Minister. The BRS, in turn, has responded by targeting Reddy’s governance and public conduct.
On Sunday, Revanth Reddy intensified his attacks, mocking KCR as the “father of Telangana” and questioning his leadership. In a speech at Shivunipalle, he insinuated that KCR’s governance was driven by “liquor,” while praising figures like Konda Laxman Bapuji and Jayashankar as the true “Fathers of Telangana.” Reddy accused KCR of looting the state’s resources and leading it towards financial bankruptcy.
In response, BRS leader Harish Rao had called KCR the “father of Telangana,” a statement that further sparked Revanth Reddy’s ire. Revanth Reddy reiterated his criticism, accusing KCR of making Telangana bankrupt after inheriting a surplus state in 2014.
