Washington DC [US], June 28: Singer-songwriter Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have officially called off their relationship, ending their nearly six-year engagement, according to People magazine.
A source confirmed to People that the couple, who got engaged in 2019, have decided to part ways. On Friday, June 27, Perry, 40, shared her first social media post since news of the split emerged, posting a carousel of photos from her day at Rottnest Island in Australia. The collection included pictures of Perry posing with a quokka, a small marsupial native to southwestern Australia, and a clip of her surrounded by birds on the beach.
Perry appeared upbeat in the photos, captioning her post “mood: Quokka,” a nod to the animal known as the “happiest animal in the world,” according to National Geographic. Her outing came just before she was scheduled to perform in Adelaide as part of the sold-out Australian leg of her Lifetimes tour.
The couple’s split comes after nearly a decade together. They first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016, got engaged in 2019, and welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020. Bloom, 48, also shares a 14-year-old son, Flynn Bloom, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
A source told People on June 26, “They’re pretty much done,” adding that it’s unlikely the pair will reconcile. While Perry has been touring Australia, Bloom has been in Venice attending the wedding festivities of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. The actor has been seen socializing with Tom Brady, attorney Alex Spiro, Corey Gamble, Kris Jenner, and Kim and Khloe Kardashian during the lavish celebrations.
