Karnataka CM Announces ₹1,033 Crore Additional Grant for Flood-Hit Farmers

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced an additional grant of over ₹1,033 crore for farmers who suffered crop losses due to floods this year. This supplementary funding is being provided by the state government beyond the standard compensation under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms.


Relief Details

  • Additional State Grant: Over ₹1,033.6 crore.
  • Total Affected Area: 14.58 lakh hectares of crop loss.
  • Total Affected Farmers: 14.24 lakh farmers.
  • Disbursement Method: The funds have been transferred to the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts and will be disbursed to farmers through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to supporting farmers affected by the natural calamity.


Request to Central Government

The state government has also formally requested the Centre to release its share of compensation and relief funds.
