Amid widespread national outrage over the tragic Pahalgam terrorist attack, Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali al-Hussaini, Chairman of the Karnataka State Board of Auqaf, strongly condemned the incident, emphasizing that terrorism has no link to Islam.
Speaking to media on Sunday, Hafiz stated, “The terrorist attack that happened in Kashmir, I strongly condemn it. This should not happen; we won’t tolerate such an infiltration in India. Such terrorist attacks have nothing to do with Islam; these people are anti-Islamic. Because Islam is about peace, and in fact, all religions give a message of peace.”
Reiterating his call for national unity, he stressed, “Terrorism has no place in any religion.”
The condemnation comes in the wake of the April 22 attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, including 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. The attack has been described as one of the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, where 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives.
Following the attack, the Indian government vowed to take strong punitive actions against Pakistan for allegedly supporting cross-border terrorism. Authorities have pledged that both the perpetrators and the conspirators of the Pahalgam attack will face severe consequences.
During the 121st episode of his monthly Mann Ki Baat radio program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that justice will be delivered swiftly.
“The whole world stands with 140 crore Indians in our fight against terrorism. I once again assure the affected families that they will get justice, and justice will be done. The perpetrators and conspirators of this attack will be served with the harshest response,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that the attack occurred at a time when peace and prosperity were beginning to return to Kashmir, accusing the terrorists and their masterminds of trying to push the region back into turmoil.
The Pahalgam tragedy has unified voices across political, religious, and civic groups, all calling for national solidarity and a determined stand against terrorism.
