Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has recorded her statement with the Bandra Police regarding the violent attack on her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, at their Bandra residence in the early hours of Thursday.
Her statement was recorded on Friday evening at her home in the presence of police officials. So far, over 30 individuals have provided statements in connection with the case.
To expedite the investigation, the Mumbai Police has formed 20 special teams, in addition to 10 teams from the Crime Branch. Authorities have seized CCTV footage from the Bandra area, and three suspects are currently being questioned. However, no arrests have been made yet.
Earlier, Saif’s staff members were summoned for questioning but were later allowed to leave.
In a crucial account of the events, an auto-rickshaw driver who transported Saif to the hospital shared his experience. Speaking to ANI, the driver recounted how he saw a woman attempting to hire an auto around 2 a.m. and heard calls for help from inside the actor’s gate.
“A man covered in blood came out, along with 2-4 others. They put him in the auto and decided to go to Lilavati Hospital. I later found out it was Saif Ali Khan. I saw him bleeding from his neck and back,” the driver said.
The attack occurred when an intruder reportedly confronted Saif’s maid at their 11th-floor residence. When Saif intervened, the situation escalated into a violent altercation.
The actor sustained multiple stab wounds, including a severe injury to his thoracic spinal cord caused by a 2.5-inch-long knife lodged in his spine. Surgeons at Lilavati Hospital successfully removed the blade and repaired leaking spinal fluid during an emergency operation.
Doctors have confirmed that Saif is now “out of danger” but remains under observation. The police investigation into this shocking incident continues.
