“Love Will Conquer All”: Kareena Kapoor Reflects On A “Difficult” 2025 And Saif’s Knife Attack

As 2025 draws to a close, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram to share a poignant reflection on a year that tested her family’s strength. Referencing the terrifying home invasion and knife attack on husband Saif Ali Khan earlier in January, Kareena admitted that while the year was “difficult,” it also taught her that “love will conquer all.”

A Year of Reflection and Resilience

Kareena’s post featured a warm picture with Saif, accompanied by a caption that struck a chord with millions of fans. She acknowledged the emotional toll the last twelve months have taken on their children, Taimur and Jeh, and the extended family.

“2025 has been a difficult year for us, our children and our families… but we went through it head held high, laughing and holding on. We cried a lot, we prayed and now we are here… 2025 taught us that human nature is fearless, love will conquer all and that children are braver than we think.”

She expressed profound gratitude to the “lord almighty” and the fans who provided a pillar of support throughout their recovery journey. Looking ahead, she noted that the family is entering 2026 with a “renewed fire” and a “renewed passion for the movies.”

Recalling the January Horror

The “difficulty” Kareena alluded to began in the early hours of January 16, 2025, at their Bandra residence. An intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered their 12th-floor flat with the intent of burglary.

When Saif confronted the intruder to protect his family and staff, he was stabbed six times. The attack was particularly critical as:

  • Medical Emergency: Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital with a 2.5-inch knife fragment lodged near his spine.
  • Surgery: He underwent a five-hour emergency neurosurgery to stop a spinal fluid leak and plastic surgery for wounds on his neck and hands.
  • Recovery: Despite the severity, Saif was discharged on January 21 and made his first public appearance just weeks later, famously stating it felt “nice to be standing.”

Looking Forward to 2026

Despite the trauma, the family has remained a united front. Kareena recently shared in interviews that her youngest son, Jeh, now views his father as a “superhero” like Iron Man or Batman.

As they bid farewell to a transformative year, the couple is set to focus back on their professional lives. Saif will soon be seen in the Netflix heist thriller Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, while Kareena continues to ride high on the success of her 2025 releases.
