Mumbai (Maharashtra), January 18 : Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after undergoing surgery for injuries sustained during an attack at his Bandra home early Thursday morning. The incident occurred when an intruder reportedly confronted Saif’s maid, and when the actor intervened, he was attacked and left with stab wounds to his thoracic spine.
Following the attack, Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a 2.5-inch blade lodged in his spine. While the surgery was successful and Saif is “out of danger,” his condition continues to be monitored closely by medical staff.
On Saturday, Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, was seen arriving at the hospital to check on her husband’s condition. She was dressed casually in a grey T-shirt, black sunglasses, and blue jeans, and was escorted by security as she entered the hospital.
Earlier, Saif’s sister, actress Soha Ali Khan, and her husband, actor Kunal Kemmu, were also spotted at the hospital, while veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, Saif’s mother, visited the hospital on Friday.
In the wake of the attack, Mumbai Police have formed 20 teams to investigate the incident. They are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning over 30 individuals, including the actor’s staff and those who were near his residence that night. Kareena Kapoor Khan also provided a statement to the Bandra Police on Friday evening as part of the ongoing inquiry.
