Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor Khan turned heads at a recent Bvlgari event, donning a bold and elegant outfit designed by Hannah Khiangte and styled by Rhea Kapoor.
The custom-made dress, inspired by the traditional Mizo puan—a handwoven textile from Mizoram—blended cultural richness with high fashion. Featuring an off-shoulder silhouette, corset detailing, and fine fringes, the outfit celebrated Northeast India’s vibrant heritage while highlighting Kareena’s timeless glamour.
Hannah Khiangte, a designer from Aizawl, Mizoram, launched her label in 2013 and is known for empowering local Mizo women weavers through her work. Her creation for Kareena was a bold step in fusing indigenous artistry with contemporary design.
On the professional front, Kareena is set to star alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film, Daayra. Previously slated to feature Ayushmann Khurrana, the role is now taken over by Prithviraj due to scheduling changes.
Sharing her excitement, Kareena wrote on Instagram:
“I’ve always said that I’m a director’s actor… and this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar, and alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra, let’s do this.”
Director Meghna Gulzar described Daayra as a story that “compels you to reflect on the society we live in and its institutions that pilot us.”
