Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 11: Actor Karan Tacker, best known for his performances in Special Ops and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, is set to make his feature film debut with Anupam Kher’s directorial venture, Tanvi The Great.
The announcement was made on Tacker’s birthday, with Kher unveiling the film’s poster featuring him as Captain Samar Raina, an Indian Army soldier. In a heartfelt message, Kher praised Tacker’s acting range and screen presence, calling his performance in the film “majestic” and “effortless.”
“This moment is incredibly surreal,” said Tacker in a statement. “To debut on the big screen with Tanvi The Great under Anupam Kher sir’s direction is a dream manifested. Portraying Capt. Samar Raina has been a transformative experience.”
The film, which also stars Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen, is backed by sound design from Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty and features music by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani. Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with NFDC, the film is set to have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival’s Marche du Film.
The release date for Tanvi The Great is yet to be announced.
