Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Famed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has finally addressed swirling rumours surrounding his dramatic weight loss, asserting that his transformation is a result of hard work and healthy living—not medication.
During an Instagram Live session on Thursday as part of a special #AskKJo segment, Johar responded to a fan question about his noticeable physique change, saying:
“That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests. I want to tell you I am in the pink of health. I’ve never felt happier, lighter on my feet. I’ve lost my weight the right way.”
The director went on to say he now wakes up with renewed energy and enthusiasm, feeling healthier and more motivated than ever.
Speculation about Johar’s weight loss has been rife online, especially as weight-loss drugs like Ozempic have become a topic of debate in celebrity circles. The buzz intensified after Maheep Kapoor, a close friend of Johar, criticized the use of such medications on the Netflix show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
Johar previously opened up about his fitness journey during a media interaction at the IIFA Awards in March. “It’s about being healthy, eating well, exercising, and just doing your best to look good,” he said, attributing his transformation to balanced lifestyle choices.
Work Front:
Karan Johar is currently gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film, Kesari Chapter 2, which hits theatres on April 18. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles.
The first film, Kesari (2019), starred Parineeti Chopra and depicted the heroic saga of 21 Sikh soldiers in the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi.
