Global rap icon Kanye West is reportedly set to perform in India for the first time, with plans underway for a concert tour in April 2026. If confirmed, the visit would mark a landmark moment for India’s live music scene, bringing one of the most influential artists of modern music to Indian audiences.
According to a report, the Grammy-winning rapper and producer is preparing for his India concert debut later this year. Known for constantly reinventing musical boundaries, Kanye West’s arrival is expected to rank among the biggest international live music events hosted in the country in recent years.
Over a career that spans hip-hop, gospel and experimental music, West has left an indelible mark on global pop culture. Beyond chart-topping hits, he is widely recognised for shaping contemporary soundscapes and influencing fashion through his design ventures. With 24 Grammy Awards to his name, he remains one of the most decorated and talked-about artists in hip-hop history. Songs such as Stronger, Gold Digger, Good Life and Ultralight Beam continue to enjoy massive global popularity.

While this would be his first live performance for Indian fans, Kanye West has visited the country before. In 2009, he reportedly travelled to India for spiritual exploration and spent time at an ashram. He returned again in 2012, visiting Mumbai in connection with his women’s fashion label and staying at the Taj Mahal Palace, adding to his limited but notable association with India.
The proposed tour also reflects India’s rising stature on the global concert circuit. In recent years, the country has hosted major international artists including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber, drawing huge crowds. Large-scale music festivals have further strengthened this momentum, featuring acts such as Green Day, Shawn Mendes, the Jonas Brothers and Louis Tomlinson.
If Kanye West’s India tour materialises as planned, it would further cement the country’s position as a key destination for world-class live music events.
