Rapper urges Donald Trump to intervene, blasts entertainment industry for turning its back on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Washington [US], February 9:
Rapper Kanye West has once again sparked controversy, this time by publicly defending music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently behind bars facing serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Kanye slammed Hollywood for its silence on Diddy’s arrest, accusing the industry of letting Combs “rot” in jail instead of speaking out in his defense. He also made a direct plea to former US President Donald Trump, urging him to intervene in the case.
“Donald Trump, PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF,” Kanye wrote in a post on X.
Kanye Shares Emotional Call with Diddy’s Son
In a follow-up post, Kanye shared a video of a FaceTime call with Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, highlighting the impact of his father’s imprisonment on their family.
“A SON TO HIS DAD FOR EVERY SON WHO DAD IS LOCKED UP WRITE OR WRONG I WANT YALL TO LISTEN TO DAVE CHAPELLES JOKES VERY CLOSE THIS TIME LETS SEE HOW FUNNY IT GETS WHEN FAMILIES ARE SEPARATED ESPECIALLY BLACK FAMILIES,” Kanye captioned the post.
West Targets Music Industry Executives
Not stopping at Diddy’s defense, Kanye revived his long-standing feud with liquor giant Diageo, while also accusing corporate executives—particularly Jewish and white business leaders—of controlling the music industry.
“WHAT Y’ALL GONNA DO? CANCEL MY SNEAKER DEAL? CANCEL MY RECORD DEAL? FREEZE MY ACCOUNTS?” Kanye wrote in another post, challenging the industry’s power over artists like himself and Diddy.
Diddy’s Legal Battle Continues
Meanwhile, according to People, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting the start of his criminal trial on May 5.
Combs faces multiple charges, including running a criminal enterprise, drugging victims, and using violence to silence them. If convicted, the hip-hop mogul could face life in prison.
As the case unfolds, Kanye West’s vocal support has added a new layer to the growing controversy, further fueling debates on power, justice, and racial discrimination in the music industry.
