Noida: In preparation for the Kanwar Yatra 2025, the Noida Police has announced significant traffic restrictions to ensure the safe and smooth movement of Kanwariyas (devotees). From 10 PM on July 11 to July 25, the entry of heavy, medium, and light commercial vehicles from Delhi into Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Moradabad, and nearby towns through Noida will be strictly regulated.
According to Gautam Buddh Nagar SSP Vipin Tada, one full lane on major highways will be dedicated solely to Kanwariya pilgrims, while the other lane will accommodate light vehicles. Several roads, especially those connecting Delhi, Uttarakhand, and western Uttar Pradesh, will operate under diversions to prevent traffic snarls and accidents.
The Director General of Police has directed the creation of an inter-state WhatsApp group to enable real-time coordination among police forces of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Rajasthan, ensuring instant updates regarding crowd control, traffic, and safety.
To manage the increased flow of people and vehicles, electronic boards, additional lighting, and directional signage have been installed. Key roads and intersections have also been prepared for emergency diversions.
