Mumbai — The trailer for Rishab Shetty’s upcoming film, Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1, was officially released on Monday by a star-studded group of actors including Hrithik Roshan, Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Sivakarthikeyan. The film serves as a prequel to Shetty’s 2022 blockbuster hit, Kantara, and promises to delve deeper into the origins of the Daiva Kola tradition and the mythology that captivated audiences worldwide.

Trailer Breakdown: A Journey into the Past

The trailer for Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1 begins with a young Shiva questioning the disappearance of his father during a Daiva Kola performance. This sets the stage for a flashback that explores the ancestral story of a warrior who fought against oppression with divine intervention.

The trailer introduces key characters, including Gulshan Devaiah as a cruel and headstrong prince and Rukmini Vasanth as a princess with whom the protagonist’s ancestor falls in love. This relationship threatens to disrupt the existing social order and forms a central conflict in the story. The trailer concludes with a powerful scene of Rishab’s character being possessed by the Daiva Kola for the first time, signaling the birth of the legend that was mentioned in the first film.
