Kanimozhi Leads India’s All-Party Delegation To Russia Under Operation Sindoor, Reinforces Zero-Tolerance Terror Doctrine

As part of India’s strategic global outreach under Operation Sindoor, DMK MP Kanimozhi is leading a high-level all-party parliamentary delegation to Russia, with further visits scheduled to Greece, Latvia, Slovenia, and Spain. The purpose: to present India’s unified stance against terrorism and explain its decisive actions following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.

In her remarks to media, Kanimozhi emphasized the significance of engaging with Russia at this juncture.

“Russia has been a strategic partner… we have been facing terror attacks time and again. The Government of India and the Prime Minister decided that MPs from across the country, from different parties, would be sent to represent the Indian stand against terrorism and explain our position to the world,” she said.

The delegation’s Moscow itinerary includes meetings with:

  • Leonid Slutsky, Chair of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs
  • Andre Denison, First Deputy Chair of the same committee
  • Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister
  • Mikhail Fradkov, former Prime Minister of Russia and now Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies

The delegation is also slated to engage with think tanks, academics, and Russian media, aiming to build a coalition of international opinion against cross-border terrorism, with specific reference to Pakistan.

Reinforcing this message, Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, also part of the delegation, stated:

“Pakistan poses a threat not only to India but to the whole world… There is no such terrorist incident in the world where the strings don’t lead to Pakistan.”
Calling Russia a “historical friend,” Rai added that the delegation has come with evidence and emphasized the importance of global isolation of Pakistan.

India’s Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam attack, with precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, followed by a measured military escalation. After intense strikes, both India and Pakistan reached an understanding to halt military operations following a call between their DGMOs.

This multi-nation campaign, involving MPs from multiple parties, reflects a rare show of political unity. It underscores India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and seeks to build bipartisan global support for isolating state sponsors of terror.

Through these coordinated international delegations, India is making it clear: terrorism, and the states backing it, will be countered on all fronts — militarily, diplomatically, and politically.
