Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has once again spoken out about an incident she says left her deeply hurt, alleging that fashion designer Masaba Gupta did not want her to wear her brand’s saree during a visit to Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. After first mentioning the episode on Instagram Stories, Kangana expanded on it with a detailed post on X, calling the experience humiliating and driven by “hate, bitterness and prejudice.”
What Kangana claimed
Kangana questioned why Masaba or her brand never shared or used images of her wearing the designer’s saree, despite the photos going viral online. She explained that during promotions for her film Tejas, she had asked the same stylist—appointed by the production house—to help her with clothes for a Ram Janmabhoomi darshan.
According to Kangana, while Masaba had sent clothes for her film promotions, the situation changed once the stylist informed the designer that the outfit would be worn for a religious visit.
“When she was told it’s for Ram Janmabhoomi, she told the stylist not to use her clothes,” Kangana alleged.
She added that the stylist, embarrassed by the situation, quietly asked her not to tag Masaba or her brand and revealed that she had paid for the saree herself to avoid any awkwardness. By the time Kangana learned of these details, she said she was already dressed and en route to Ayodhya.
“The hate, the bitterness, the prejudice… how ugly! It still makes me sick to my stomach,” Kangana wrote.
‘I felt humiliated’
Earlier, Kangana had said she quietly cried in her car after being told she could not go to Ram Janmabhoomi wearing Masaba’s saree, describing the moment as deeply degrading. She also linked the incident to what she called selective outrage within the industry, accusing some public figures
