New Delhi: Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan’s public interaction at the Constitution Club in Delhi on Tuesday has ignited a fresh feud with actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. A video circulating online shows Bachchan pushing away a man who was trying to take a selfie with her, leading to a sharp reaction from Ranaut, who took to social media to criticize her.
In the video, a visibly annoyed Jaya Bachchan is seen pushing the man and asking, “Kya kar rahe hai aap (What are you doing?) What is this?” The man immediately backs away, while Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, a fellow parliamentarian, is seen standing nearby.
Kangana Ranaut shared the video on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a scathing caption. She wrote, “Most spoilt and privileged woman. People put up with her tantrums/non sense just because she is @amitabhbachchan ji’s wife. That samajwadi topi looks like a rooster comb, while she looks like a rooster cock!! Such disgrace and shame.”
This is not the first time the two actors have clashed. In 2020, Jaya Bachchan had condemned comments made by Kangana where she had compared the film industry to a “gutter.” In a heated response at the time, Kangana had questioned Bachchan on X, asking if she would react the same way if her own daughter or son faced similar harassment.
The dynamic between the two has been inconsistent, however. In an interview with News18 last year, Kangana had praised Jaya Bachchan, calling her one of the most “dignified” women in the film industry and expressing her admiration for how she carries herself in the Rajya Sabha.
On the professional front, Jaya Bachchan’s last on-screen appearance was in Karan Johar’s 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Kangana Ranaut was last seen in her directorial venture, Emergency, a film based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
