New Delhi [India] : Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor have praised the Indian Armed Forces and the central government for the successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’—a series of coordinated precision strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Kangana Ranaut hailed the operation as a powerful response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack and commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Our security forces protect us; may God protect them. PM Modi named this mission Operation Sindoor. We all stand united with him in spirit and strength. While our mothers and daughters watched, their husbands were gunned down—those deaths are being avenged,” she said.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also expressed approval, calling the strikes a calculated and responsible move that avoided unnecessary escalation.
“The government has carefully ensured the conflict doesn’t expand. The precision targeting of identified terror bases and launchpads reflects a mature and deliberate strategy,” Tharoor said.
He further noted that locations like Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya—targeted in the operation—have long histories of hosting banned terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Operation Sindoor, carried out jointly by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, successfully struck nine terror targets using special precision munitions. Four sites were located deep inside Pakistan’s territory, and five were in PoJK. According to defence sources, the mission aimed to neutralize senior LeT and JeM leaders responsible for orchestrating cross-border attacks.
This marks India’s deepest military strike inside Pakistan’s undisputed territory since the 1971 war, making it the most significant cross-border counter-terror operation in over five decades.
