Singer Kailash Kher has addressed viral videos claiming he stormed off stage during his recent concert in Gwalior, clarifying that the event was not cancelled and was completed as planned. According to the 52-year-old artist, he briefly stepped away from the stage only to help control an overly excited crowd and ensure everyone’s safety.
Explaining the situation, Kher said the audience’s enthusiasm had escalated to an unmanageable level. He chose to walk off temporarily so the crowd could calm down, stressing that the decision was intentional and not driven by anger or frustration. Despite the presence of authorities and double barricades at the large venue, fans continued to push forward, with some even jumping barricades, which made the situation stressful and potentially unsafe.
Kher noted that maintaining safety for both the audience and performers was his top priority. He added that if anyone had been injured, he would have immediately cancelled the concert. Once order was restored and he returned to the stage, the show resumed smoothly, with the audience dancing and enjoying the performance.
Reflecting on the incident, the singer also spoke about a broader issue at live events—unchecked excitement turning into chaos. He emphasised that managing enthusiasm responsibly is crucial, whether it’s the audience or performers, and that mutual respect is essential for a successful and safe live concert experience.
