Actress Julie Bowen is set to star in the world premiere of Larissa FastHorse’s comedy Fake It Until You Make It, which is being performed at the Center Theatre Group’s Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles from January 9 to March 9. Directed by Michael John Garces, the production also features an ensemble cast including Noah Bean, Eric Stanton Betts, Tonantzin Carmelo, Brandon Delsid, and Dakota Ray Hebert, as reported by Variety.
Fake It Until You Make It follows a group of characters in the non-profit sector. The play introduces Wynona, a Native American business owner at N.O.B.U.S.H., and River, her white counterpart at Indigenous Nations Soaring. Their growing rivalry creates chaos, pulling in colleagues and bystanders, while revealing the absurdities of ambition and authenticity. The production uses humor to examine the lengths people will go to in order to shape their identity, with an underlying theme of unexpected paths to success.
Following its run in Los Angeles, the play will transfer to the Kreeger Theater at Arena Stage in Washington D.C. from April 3 to May 4, where Amy Brenneman will take over Bowen’s role.
