Washington DC [US], July 6: Dancer and singer Julianne Hough has candidly shared her experience undergoing her third round of egg freezing and the emotional challenges of living with endometriosis, reported People.
Hough, who joined Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer at 18, revealed that her decision to freeze her eggs again was rooted in freeing herself from “psychological fear.” She first discovered she had endometriosis at 19 or 20 but wishes she had been advised to consider egg freezing earlier.
“I wasn’t showing it to make a big statement,” Hough explained about posting her journey online in June, “but with the response I got, I realized how important it was.” She added, “I have some other health implications that might make conceiving challenging… I think the time will be right when it’s right.”
Reflecting on the process, Hough noted how empowering it was to administer her own hormone shots during this cycle. “The first time I did it, I didn’t do the shots myself… Then I was like, ‘Wait, I feel empowered doing them myself,’” she shared.
The two-time DWTS champion has faced personal and professional challenges, including her endometriosis diagnosis in 2008 and her 2020 divorce from former NHL player Brooks Laich. She emphasized the value of these life experiences: “Every moment that I’ve gone through… builds character.”
Beyond dance, Hough starred as Sandy in Fox’s Grease: Live in 2016 and launched her wellness studio, KINRGY, in 2018. “Being a founder is one of the hardest things… but the best compliment is when people tell me they felt welcomed and connected to their body and confidence,” she added.
Hough started competitive dancing at age 9 and has since become a beloved figure in entertainment, inspiring many by sharing her journey with health, growth, and empowerment.
