Julian McMahon Remembered by Ex-Wife Brooke Burns After His Passing at 56

Brooke Burns shares emotional tribute with a photo of Julian McMahon and their daughter Madison, as tributes pour in for the late actor known for Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Fantastic Four.

Washington DC [US], July 6: Actor Julian McMahon, best known for his iconic roles in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Fantastic Four, passed away on July 2 at the age of 56 after a private battle with cancer. Among the many tributes pouring in from across the entertainment industry, his ex-wife Brooke Burns offered a touching remembrance, sharing a heartfelt photograph of Julian with their daughter, Madison McMahon, now 25.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, July 5, actress and model Brooke Burns shared a personal photo capturing a tender moment between Julian and their daughter Madison. The image, which shows the father-daughter duo smiling closely, was captioned simply with: “Rest in peace,” overlaid on the photograph — a quiet but poignant tribute.

Burns and McMahon were married from 1999 to 2001, and Madison was born in June 2000. Brooke has since remarried, now with director Gavin O’Connor, while Julian had been married to Kelly Paniagua since 2014.

Julian McMahon died in Clearwater, Florida, following a battle with cancer, as confirmed by his wife Kelly in a statement released on July 4. “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,” she wrote. “His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

Born in Australia, Julian McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon. He made his mark in Hollywood with his intense performances, notably as Cole Turner in Charmed and Dr. Christian Troy in the acclaimed medical drama Nip/Tuck. His versatility extended to the big screen where he portrayed the formidable Victor Von Doom in Fantastic Four and its sequel.

McMahon also starred in FBI: Most Wanted and recently appeared in The Surfer, alongside Nicolas Cage. His final public appearance was at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in March 2025, where he promoted the film with his signature charm and energy.

Following his passing, heartfelt tributes flooded in from colleagues and fans alike. Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan each expressed their grief and shared fond memories of McMahon, praising his talent, wit, and warmth. Actor Ioan Gruffudd, who worked alongside Julian in Fantastic Four, remembered their on-screen rivalry with affection and respect.

Julian McMahon leaves behind a powerful legacy as a gifted actor, a loving family man, and a beloved figure in pop culture. As tributes continue to celebrate his life, the photo shared by Brooke Burns — capturing a moment of joy between Julian and Madison — stands as a reminder of the personal bonds and memories he created beyond the screen.
