New Delhi [India], June 12: Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda praised the monumental strides India has made in the digital sector over the last 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling it an “unprecedented digital revolution” that has bridged the technological divide across the country.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Nadda emphasized that this transformation has not only empowered millions but also made governance more transparent and efficient.
“Over the past 11 years, India has witnessed an unprecedented digital revolution under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji. This transformation has not only connected millions but also bridged the digital divide, ensuring that technology reaches every citizen,” he said.
Nadda further added that major government schemes are now supported by real-time digital dashboards, ensuring direct benefit delivery and enhanced transparency.
He cited key digital initiatives such as UPI, DigiLocker, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, U-WIN, CoWIN, and e-Sanjeevani, stating that these platforms have gone beyond innovation to truly empower citizens.
“Let’s celebrate this Digital India journey as it paves the way towards a Viksit Bharat @2047,” Nadda concluded in his post.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also echoed these sentiments earlier in the day. Sharing a MyGovIndia post, Modi said India’s rapid technological progress is driven by its youth and is laying the foundation for the nation to become a self-reliant global tech leader.
India has recorded a massive 2,500-fold increase in UPI transactions—from just 0.93 crore in April 2017 to 1,867.70 crore in April 2025. Total digital payments have crossed ₹260 lakh crore annually, with UPI now accepted in seven countries including UAE, Singapore, and France.
Additionally, India has emerged as the world’s cheapest mobile data provider, boasting over 94 crore broadband connections and more than 120 crore telephone subscribers.
The Bharat Net initiative has connected 2.18 lakh gram panchayats with 6.92 lakh km of optical fibre laid across the nation.
India is also investing in the future of Artificial Intelligence, with plans for three Centres of Excellence in top educational institutions and the development of indigenous AI models like BharatGen, Sarvam-1, Chitralekha, and Everest 1.0 by Hanooman.
On June 10, PM Modi reiterated the government’s unwavering focus on enhancing digital infrastructure and connectivity over the last decade.
