Mumbai – The highly anticipated courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, which brings together franchise stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, is experiencing a slow start in its advance booking collections. Despite the film’s legacy and star power, it has yet to cross the ₹1 crore mark in pre-sales for its opening day, which is scheduled for Friday, September 19.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s advance bookings, which opened on September 15, have sold around 32,000 tickets, grossing just over ₹99 lakh. This figure is considered low for a film with a strong cast and a popular franchise.
However, industry analysts are not overly concerned. The Jolly LLB franchise, a blend of courtroom drama and comedy, has historically relied on positive word-of-mouth rather than a massive opening day. For example, the previous installment, Jolly LLB 2, also had single-digit advance bookings but went on to have a net collection of ₹13 crore on its opening day, eventually grossing ₹198 crore worldwide.
The film’s makers are hoping for a similar trajectory, where strong reviews and positive audience feedback will drive ticket sales over the weekend.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 will see Akshay Kumar’s character, Jagdwishwar ‘Jolly’ Mishra, and Arshad Warsi’s character, Jagdish ‘Jolly’ Tyagi, go head-to-head in a legal battle. The film also features the return of Saurabh Shukla as Justice Tripathi, with Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Gajraj Rao, and Seema Biswas in key roles.
