Joint Operation By UP And Punjab Police Neutralizes KZF Terror Module

A coordinated operation by the Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab Police led to an encounter with three suspected members of the Pakistan-backed Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module in Pilibhit district’s Puranpur area. The suspects, involved in a grenade attack on a Gurdaspur police station, opened fire at the police party during the operation.

Details of the Encounter

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Gurvinder Singh
  • Virendra Singh alias Ravi
  • Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav announced the operation’s success on X, stating:
“In a major breakthrough against a #Pak-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module, a joint operation of UP Police and Punjab Police has led to an encounter with three module members who fired at the police party.”

The injured suspects were transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Puranpur for medical attention.

Seized Items

The police recovered:

  • Two AK rifles
  • Two Glock pistols

Ongoing Investigations

Authorities are continuing to probe the module’s activities, focusing on their network, handlers, and future plans.


Punjab Police Busts Gangster Module in Pathankot

In a separate operation, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence team dismantled a gangster module in Pathankot. The operation led to the arrest of:

  • Sunil Kumar alias Ashu, a resident of Rauwal in Batala
  • Dilpreet Singh alias Dil, a resident of Raimal in Batala

Seized Items and Arrest Details

The operation recovered:

  • Four magazines
  • 14 cartridges

Sunil Kumar, with a prior criminal record under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, was recently released on bail. Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo received arms from the Ajnala area of Amritsar and were tasked with delivering them to an unknown party.

An FIR (No. 71 dated 21.12.2024) has been registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act and Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Police Station State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar.

Future Actions

Efforts are underway to track previous arms consignments and identify other suspects linked to both the KZF terror module and the gangster network. The arrested individuals will be presented in court for police remand to aid in the ongoing investigations.
